Families Together is a partnership between Providence Childrens Museum and RI Department of Children, Youth and Families. Children removed from their homes because of neglect or abuse visit with their parents at the Museum. With the support and guidance of the Museums family therapists, parents learn better ways to be with their children and family bonds are strengthened.
Families Together was a finalist in the prestigious Innovations in American Government award competition. A program of the Council for Excellence in Government and the Institute for Government Innovation at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, with funding from the Ford Foundation, thecompetition recognizes original and effective government initiatives.
