The Constellation Society was established in honor and recognition of those who support Providence Childrens Museum by creating a provision in their estate and financial plans to benefit this important educational and cultural institution. Such gifts are invested; the returns are used to provide special programs and educational opportunities, and to fund the ongoing annual costs necessary to operate the Museum.
Leave a Legacy
Making
a bequest to Providence Childrens Museum is one of the easiest ways
to show your commitment to the Museums future. A charitable bequest
is fully deductible for estate tax purposes and can be made in one of several
ways:
A specific dollar amount
A specific asset (securities, real estate)
A percentage (or all) of your entire estate
A percentage (or all) of your residuary estate (the property remaining
after all other terms of your will have been satisfied).
Advantages
of leaving a bequest are:
Significant estate, inheritance and income tax savings
A lasting memorial.
Bequest
provisions can be worded as simply as the following examples:
I give the sum of ____ dollars ($____) to Providence Childrens
Museum in Providence, RI, for its general use and purposes.
I give ____ percent (_____%) of my residuary estate to Providence Childrens
Museum, in Providence, RI, for its general uses and purposes.
Two specific
Museum funds to which bequests may be made are:
A project fund, designated funds to be distributed for special projects
at the Board of Directors discretion
An endowment fund, a reserve of designated funds whose principal is
held as a permanent fund, and from which a percentage of earnings may be used
to support the annual budget.
If you have planned or are planning to include the Museum in your estate plans please let Jennifer Laurelli, Director of Development, know so that you may be included in the Constellation Society, 401-273-5437 ext. 120.
Thank you.
