Wheels at Work Rolls in

to Providence Children’s Museum!

Wednesdays in July and August

Wheels at Work - Tow TruckKids get behind the wheel when fascinating vehicles roll up to the Museum during this special summer series.  Climb aboard a fire truck, sit atop a giant digger, examine the equipment in an ambulance and meet the drivers who operate them.  Explore a different vehicle each week!

July 6:  Inspect a fire truck!  Providence Fire Department firefighters teach kids how their vehicle helps put out fires.

July 13: See WPRI 12's Pinpoint Weather Mobile and learn how it helps meteorologists track the weather.

July 20: Check out the giant digging bucket of a Cardi Corporation backhoe loader.

July 27: Explore an ambulance and learn how technicians from Brown University Emergency Medical Services help people when they're injured.

August 3: Check out the Mobile Command Center the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency uses to help in natural disasters.

August 10: Learn how a digger truck does its digging from a Narragansett Bay Commission operator.

August 17: Climb aboard a bobcat front loader from Providence Public Works and learn how it digs and scoops.   

August 24: Explore a police cruiser and meet officers from the Burrillville Police Department.   

August 31: Get behind the wheel of a giant tow truck from AAA of Southern New England and learn how its operators rescue broken cars.

Providence Children’s Museum – active summer fun, inside and out!
The Museum is located at 100 South Street in Providence’s Jewelry District.  September through March, open Tuesday through Sunday and Monday school holidays, 9 AM to 6 PM, and selected Fridays until 8 PM.  April through August, open 7 days.  Programs are free with Museum admission of $8.50 per person; admission is always free for Museum members.  Call (401) 273-KIDS or visit www.childrenmuseum.org.
